On average, 38 children die from heat-related deaths after being trapped inside vehicles. Even the best of parents or caregivers can unknowingly leave a sleeping baby in a car; and the end result can be injury or even death. What’s even more alarming is these tragedies are on the rise. In 2018, there were 52 child hot-car fatalities – that’s one every 7 days.
Here at DropPop™, we seek to prevent this type of tragedy. DropPop™ alerts parents and loved-ones that their child was not dropped off when and where planned—that the child is off-schedule. “Schedules” are the key to how DropPop™ works as an early-warning system. In the majority of these cases, the child had a scheduled place to be–usually school or daycare. DropPop™ monitors when and where your children are expected to be and if they are off-schedule, the app alerts you and every loved-one in your circle that the drop-off has not occurred. In this way, we can minimize the amount of time a child could spend in a locked car.
With DropPop™, we believe we can save lives and raise awareness that unknowingly leaving a child in a car can happen to anyone.
